The City of Vancouver requires operating permits for cooling towers, decorative water features, rainwater harvesting and other alternative water systems, potable water chemical treatment systems, and potable water physical systems (e.g., filtration, reverse osmosis, or ultraviolet light). Each permitted system must have an operator with EOCP Building Water System Operator certification.

What are the BWS Operator certification requirements?

To become certified, complete approximately 18 hours of training and pass EOCP’s exam.

Why HC Info?

“HC Info’s LAMPS program is a great way for engineers to get a better understanding of how to mitigate Legionella growth in a plumbing system. The sessions had content that were good for entry level engineers all the way up to experienced engineers. I came away with a few different ideas of how I’d modify my design approach to further mitigate Legionella risk.”
