Legionella HACCP Water Plans

A Legionella HACCP water plan helps you manage your plumbing systems, cooling towers, decorative fountains, and other building water systems to minimize Legionella bacteria. The objectives are to prevent Legionnaires' disease and reduce your legal risk.

HOW IT WORKS IF YOU (THE FACILITY OPERATOR) DO IT YOURSELF

In just a few hours, your facilities personnel can configure a HACCP plan of the highest credibility and quality using HC Info's do-it-yourself instructions, software application, and forms.

Although we call it a "do-it-yourself" HACCP plan, the hard part is done for you. Your part is easy. If you have questions along the way, just ask HC Info’s tech support.

To configure a HACCP plan, just follow the instructions in your LAMPS membership account and the HACCP plan configuration tool to complete these three steps:

1. Gather information on your water systems using our survey form and checklist.
2. Enter the information into the Excel tool per the dropdown lists and popup instructions.
3. Configure your flow diagrams using the template and examples. The flow diagrams are actually fun to construct and a beneficial exercise for the facilities personnel.

When you finish, you can print your plan to PDF or paper, or use it in Excel.

How much time will it take? As an example, for a 200-room hotel or a 200-bed hospital, allow a total of 14 hours to survey your facility, enter data into the Excel file, and finalize the plan.

What will you need? Microsoft Excel 2007 or later and a basic familiarity with cooling towers (if you have any) and plumbing systems. Legionella expertise is not required to survey your water systems or use our HACCP plan configuration tool.

Going through the online training, Preparing to Develop a Legionella HACCP Water Plan, is recommended but not required.

HOW IT WORKS IF A PROVIDER DOES IT FOR YOU

If you hire an HC Info Provider to do your plan, you still get the LAMPS membership, credibility, quality, and other benefits that come with an HC Info HACCP plan package (see below). The difference is that, instead of entering your water system information into the Excel tool and configuring the plan yourself, the Provider does it all for you.

The HC Info Provider will visit your facility to gather information on your water systems and then configure a HACCP plan for you.

To get a proposal from a Provider, or the names of Providers in your area, fill out the full service proposal request form.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or hire a Provider?  Purchase the HACCP package and then hire a Provider to survey your system and configure your plan if you decide not to do it yourself.

Legionella Assessment and Management Plan Support (LAMPS)

• Available to your entire HACCP team – up to ten people/computers at the member facility.
• Online notes explaining certain parts of the plan. These notes -- approximately 90 web pages -- provide important details. They are extremely valuable…potentially worth $1000s in consulting services, and much more if they help you avoid mistakes.
• Publications list and e-book for additional reading
• Flow diagram samples
• Flow diagram template in MS Visio (in case you have Visio and want to use it for the diagrams)
• Technical support for answers to questions about the HACCP plan software tool and LAMPS (with limitations). Worth $100s/year!
• Discounts on online training courses on Legionella control measures. We will let you know when a new course is released. The more employees you want to train, the more you save.  Potentially worth $100s.
• Special webinars and coaching calls. As we see a need, based on technical support questions, Matt Freije will conduct these special events to cover hot topics and answer questions.  Available to all employees of the LAMPS member's facility either free of charge or at discounted prices. YEARLY RENEWALS

Each year you should resurvey your facility, as described in ASHRAE 188P, and update your control measures.

When your membership subscription renews, the purchaser (you or your Provider) will receive a new HACCP plan configuration tool from us…the latest version for your building type.

You don’t necessarily need to redo your entire HACCP plan each year. Just resurvey your water systems to make sure all are included in the plan. And, consider adding or changing your control measures based on a review of the new HACCP plan.

HOW TO ORDER

Three easy steps:

1. Review the Terms of Use. You will be asked to agree when ordering.
2. Fill out the order form below for your priimary building type, entering the purchaser’s information.
3. Fill out the LAMPS member form for the facility contact. If you are purchasing the HACCP plan for a facility you operate, then the purchaser and LAMPS member will be the same.

After you complete the order forms, you (the purchaser) will receive three emails: A receipt and LAMPS login emails immediately, and a files download email the next day.

Multiple sites? If you need HACCP plans for more than ten sites, fill out the corporate inquiry form. We’ll get back to you about a customized program according to the number of sites and available personnel.

Large campus? If more than 12 buildings will be included in your HACCP plan, or more than 12 of a particular type of water system (e.g., 12 decorative fountains), fill out the large campus inquiry form and we will try to accommodate you. We plan to offer HACCP plan tools for jumbo properties but they are not yet available.

Water treatment companies, engineering firms, and consultants: We welcome the opportunity to work with you. Check out our Provider Partner program. Important: Do not order a HACCP plan package until you are approved as a Provider. (if you do, we will probably cancel the order.)  After you are approved as a Provider, you will get a special link for ordering HACCP plans for your customers.

No risk: If you are not fully satisfied, cancel anytime during the first year and pay nothing more. You can even keep the HACCP plan as long as you use it only for the same property. If you have a mixed-use property…

• Choose the HACCP package for the primary building type. For example, if a hospital campus has office buildings on it, order the hospital package, not the office package.
• If the property is a mix of apartments, offices, and retail, order the apartment-condo package.
• If the mix includes a hotel and other non-healthcare building types, order the hotel package.
• If the property has both industrial and office uses, order the industrial package.
