the Instructor

Kelly
A. Reynolds, PhD, is an environmental science researcher and public health
educator at the University of Arizona, specializing in microbial water
quality, food safety, and pathogen transmission. She has a doctorate in
agriculture, with a specialty in environmental science, and a B.S. in
microbiology from The University of Arizona and a M.S. in public health
from the University of South Florida.
Dr.
Reynolds has specialized knowledge in the use of conventional and
molecular techniques for the detection of a variety of bacterial, viral,
helminth, fungal and protozoan organisms in diverse environments. She has
taught various courses in the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental
Science at the University of Arizona. Dr. Reynolds has published in
numerous peer-reviewed journals including Canadian
Journal of Microbiology, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, and Water
Science and Technology. She publishes a monthly article on water
quality issues in Water Conditioning and Purification International.
Dr.
Reynolds has conducted various workshops and has been an invited guest
lecturer at a number of scientific conferences including The International
Association of Food Protection and The Water Quality Association. She is a
member of The American Society for Microbiology, The Water Quality
Association, International Association on Water Quality, The American
Water Works Association and the International Association for Food
Protection.
